The Sharp Skate 4 BE -blade Edition- is the newest update to the Sharp Skate Series. With our new blade, you can sharpen in any direction you want to go. Even figure 8!! 

Because the bar is machined of hardened steel, like the outrigger of a canoe, it will wear very slowly. 

The Sharp Skate is a unique honing jig allowing you access to the fundamentals of side sharpening. It allows you to choose a precise angle to set your edge onto the stone and stick with it. 

Our blade addition has 12 custom machined parts, the Sharp Skate is a high precision honing and sharpening mechanism milled from aircraft-grade aluminum, stainless steel, and brass. The Sharp Skate 4-blade addition is the ultimate evolution of the Skate and the greatest revolution in side-sharpening. 

Sharp Skate can be hung over the bar of a Tormeck grinder as seen in the video below.

Great guide, but needs some modifications/touch ups from the user

This guide is great and provides unmatched stability when sharpening woodworking tools. The only downside of it is the complexity of it's structure. The side screws got damaged fairly quickly and needed a replacement / rethink to be done. Another area of attention is the steel bar on the bottom, the one that is in the contact with the stone. After using the guide for a while it was ground down almost completely and a replacement bar 6mm in thickness needed to be made, with the appropriate holes drilled for connector screws etc.
Apart from these small challenges with maintenance tasks can only say good things about this guide. This is a must have tool for anyone who is looking for an efficient tool that will help him/her to keep own plane blades/chisels in prime razor sharp condition.

Excellent Accessory

Very impressed with Haps improved sharp skate. I’ve been the owner of the original design s/n 267. I believe.
I do like the bar design better I can glide over every piece of the stone in any direction.
The original sharp skate has trained my hands for free hand sharpening.
But if I want to shallow or steepen the bevel on my best chisels I use the skate. To me the steel is precious on my Tasai chisels. No need to remove more then necessary.
