The MasterKitchen Set is awesome. It’s a complete set and the real deal. Whether you need to remove a chip in your blade or put a razor-sharp edge on a dull knife, this is all you need. The higher grit (lower micron) stones will put a mirror polish on whatever metal you’re working on. I read some reviews that the higher grit stone soak up a lot of water initially. So, although not completely necessary, I do soak the 1,000 grit and 3,000 grit stone for about 10 minutes before I use them, and I’ve never had an issue with them being too dry. The NL-4 lapping plate makes light work of removing the load and evening out the surface of the stones. I also purchased the NL-6 lapping plate, because I didn’t want to remove too much material from the higher grit stones. I highly recommend the Master Kitchen Set for all your knives and tools that need sharpening or polishing. I’ve used them on both, and couldn’t be happier.
